Clinical Consultation and Assessment Service

The Transcultural Mental Health Centre (TMHC) provides clinical consultation and assessment services for individuals and families from culturally and linguistically diverse communities with mental health issues, co-existing conditions such as a mental health condition and substance abuse issue or problem gambling.

TMHC has a pool of over 100 bilingual workers. Our workers include psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, mental health nurses and occupational therapists, who speak over 50 languages.

How can we help?

The Transcultural Mental Health Centre, Clinical Services can provide;

• Psychological and psychiatric assessment
• Family assessments
• Grief/Trauma Counselling
• Education about mental illness
• Short term therapy

We can also assist you or your family member with referral to mainstream mental health services. Our clinicians will provide information to mainstream services about your background and culture that will assist them to plan the best treatment for you.
