As the global arm of New South Wales Health, and under the auspices of Sydney West Area Health Service (SWAHS), the Global Health Institute (GHI) has access to one of the most comprehensive health services in the world.
The Global Health Institute identifies and facilitates opportunities for collaboration between Sydney West Area Health Service and major international health initiatives.
The GHI is advised by the Global Health Council, which is chaired by SWAHS CEO, Associate Professor Steven Boyages, and is comprised of eminent health professionals from SWAHS, the Children's Hospital at Westmead and academics from the University of Sydney and the University of Western Sydney.
The extensive resources of NSW Health include over 100,000 personnel employed in health facilities, ranging from tertiary referral centres to small rural facilities, community health centres, early childhood centres and aged care services. The GHI has particularly strong interests and expertise in diversity/ethnic health care.
This resource base, combined with a passion and expertise with the international community plus linkages with other government authories, educational institutions and research organisations ensures that the Global Health Institute is a leader in the delivery of innovative health care solutions.
