World Mental Health Day - October 10, 2009

Mental Health in Primary Care: Enhancing Treatment and Promoting Mental Health

To mark World Mental Health Day in 2009, the World Federation for Mental Health worked with partners in various countries, including the Diversity Health Institute to produce a resource "Mental Health in Primary Care: Enhancing Treatment and Promoting Mental Health".

This resource highlights the integral connection between mental health and overall health and wellbeing. It emphasises the importance of moving mental health diagnosis, treatment and care into mainstream health care facilities in order to facilitate better access to services and to break down the stigma attached to traditional mental health services.  

"Mental Health in Primary Care: Enhancing Treatment and Promoting Mental Health" is available via the World Federation for Mental Health's website in Arabic, Chinese (simplified), Chinese (traditional), English, French, Hindi, Japanese, Russian and Spanish.
