Information to Shop Well, Eat Well and Feel Well NSW Refugee Health Service and Sydney West Area Health Service have developed this pamphlet for refugee communities in 3 community languages. The pamphlet provides an overview of nutrition information, which had been adapted from similar resources developed in Victoria. The pamphlet has been developed following extensive consultation with refugee communities, and provides simple messages on a eating a healthy diet, preparing breakfasts and school lunches, promoting breastfeeding as well as other useful information. The pamphlet is available in English (halal and non halal versions), Arabic and Farsi/ Dari. Hard copies of the pamphlets can be obtained from the NSW Refugee Health Service: ph. 87780770. The pamphlets will also be available in audio format (on a CD rom), in Dinka, Assyrian, Somali and Krio languages. In addition to these pamphlet resources, the NSW Refugee Health Service and Sydney West Area Health Service have trained Bilingual Community Educators to provide a 5-week course on food and nutrition issues for four identified refugee communities.
