Professor George Rubin, MBBS (Hons), FRACP, FAFPHM, FACE, FchAM
Director, Centre for Health Services Research

Professor Rubin is Professor of Public Health and Director, Director for Health Service and Workforce Research, SWAHS and the School of Public Health at the University of Sydney. The Centre conducts public health and health services research, provides a clinical epidemiology and effectiveness service for the health services of Western Sydney and provides supervision for PhD, Master's level and Graduate Medical Program students.

Prior to these positions, Professor Rubin was Chief Health Officer and General Manager, Public Health, in the NSW Health Department. Professor Rubin has published widely and is a member of a numerous Committees, including the Policy and Advocacy Working Group, Faculty of Public Health Medicine; SWAHS New Interventional Procedures Assessment Committee; NSW Committee for Getting Research into Policy and Practice; NSW State Committee of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He was previously the Chair, Steering Committee of the Australasian Cochrane Centre and Chair, Clinical Improvement Education Group, University of Sydney.

He currently teaches Community and Doctor, and also Evidence-based Medicine in the University of Sydney Medical Program; Getting Evidence into Practice for the University of Sydney Master of Clinical Epidemiology; Quality and Safety in Healthcare for the University of Sydney Master of Medicine (Clinical Epidemiology); and the NSW Clinical Quality Improvement Program. He is a practising specialist in addiction medicine
